Mission Engineer Requirements Verification

Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated professionals who assist the Space Development Agency in developing and deploying the next generation of satellites and ground systems for missile warning (MW), missile tracking (MT) and missile defense (MD). SAIC is seeking an experienced Mission Engineer to support the Space Development Agency (SDA) Tranche 3 Program Integration (T3PI) program. This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. Desired work locations are Chantilly, VA, El Segundo, CA, or the Colorado Springs, CO area.

About the role

Our T3PI team has a need for a tracking Mission Engineer with experience analyzing space and ground system architectures through mission thread development and simulation. We are looking for innovative, creative, and highly motivated individuals to mature models and build scenarios (GRMs and DRMs) that effectively capture system of systems effects in complex operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop Requirements Verification Trace Matrix (RVTM) for the Enterprise Requirements Document (ERD)
• Plan data aggregation from component programs, SDA and T3PI analysis to show compliance with the ERD
• Review government scenarios from PWSA enterprise and prior tranches to ensure that T3 scenarios are consistent
• Develop and brief data packages that provide analysis results to inform government decision-makers
• Collaborate with prime contractors, other team contractors, government civilians, FFRDC, SETA and members of the SDA

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, or Engineering and fourteen (14) years or more of demonstrated system engineering and integration experience with space, ground, operations, and sustainment segments of DoD or NRO programs with a proven delivery record; or Master’s degree in Math, Science, or Engineering and twelve (12) years or more of demonstrated experience
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Experience working across space and ground segment organizations to coordinate and identify system requirements that ensure end-to-end mission performance requirements are met
• Strong understanding of modeling, simulation, and mission analysis techniques and tools
• Experienced at self-starting, seeking solutions, and working well in a team environment
• Demonstrated experience working with SDA/DoD/NRO customers in an acquisition environment, with space and/or ground systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience working Space Mission V&V at Mission level

Skills

• Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR), other missile defense, or related space-based ISR experience (desired)
• Experience analyzing System Availability (AO or AF) (desired)

Pay

Target salary range $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
