Missile Launcher Design Engineer
About the Role
Leidos Defense Mechanical Design & Analysis Department is seeking a Missile Launcher Design Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama, designing the next generation of air defense launchers to protect America and its allies. This role involves designing unique hardware for the US Army’s Indirect Fire Protection Capability (IFPC Inc 2) missile launcher, using Creo CAD and Windchill PLM software daily to turn ideas into designs. You’ll collaborate with production and testing teams to bring your designs to life and put them into action.
Responsibilities
- Structural design using Creo CAD software.
- Drawing generation in accordance with ASME Y14.100 & Y14.5.
- Producing technical data packages in accordance with MIL-STD-31000.
- Collaborating with production teams to turn designs into hardware.
- Assisting with hardware integration, installation, and testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
- 4+ years of applicable experience in design and/or analysis of mechanical systems, or 2+ years with a Master’s degree.
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading engineering design teams.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $87,100.00 - $157,450.00. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
