About the role

As an expert in missile defense systems, you’ll bring your technical, analytical, and strategic expertise to work on projects related to fire control and weapon-target pairing for complex weapons systems. You’ll analyze and capture functional needs of the user community to enhance design and system capabilities for a critical defense system. We’ll look to you to identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, and processes to improve operations. You’ll develop the next generation of U.S. missile defense systems and deliver solutions and capabilities to meet the homeland defense mission while solving complex design, integration, and analytical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Guide teams in solving complex problems related to missile defense systems.
  • Analyze and capture functional needs of the user community to enhance system design and capabilities.
  • Identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, and processes to improve operations.
  • Develop next-generation U.S. missile defense systems and deliver solutions for homeland defense.
  • Conduct reviews of complex systems in accordance with the System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process.
  • Apply expertise in systems architecture, requirements management, and technical baseline management.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with the design, development, testing, or analysis for Missile Defense Weapons Systems or Fire Control Systems.
  • 7+ years of experience with weapon system engineering, planning, and integration.
  • Experience with weapon system requirements, design, and performance analysis for features such as engageability, interceptability, and lethality.
  • Experience with systems architecture, requirements management, and technical baseline management.
  • Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML), DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
  • Ability to effectively communicate, work independently and collaboratively on a cross-functional team, and demonstrate initiative to complete complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Secret clearance (Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information).
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with strategic and operational-level missile defense planning, employment, and concepts of operations.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Experience with embedded programming and scripting languages such as Rust, C, C++, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Experience developing software within an Agile framework and DevSecOps infrastructure as part of a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Experience designing architecture and containerized services with Kubernetes.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Master’s degree.

Pay

Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:

  • Remote: Occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.
  • Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
  • Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
