Miscellaneous Metals Project Manager
About the role
Hanover Iron Works, Inc. is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Full Time Project Manager to oversee the successful completion of various miscellaneous metals projects from start to finish. You will manage timelines, budgets, and client coordination while ensuring quality control. This role offers the unique opportunity to be onsite, witnessing the transformation of raw materials into architectural masterpieces in real-time.
You will collaborate with the Detailing Manager to prepare and manage steel detailing and surveying of shop/fabrication drawings, work with subcontractors and vendors, prepare and negotiate change orders, maintain "As Built" drawings, create schedules, coordinate with contractors and trades, and maintain positive client relationships. Your attention to detail will be key as you read specifications and blueprints to determine material requirements and communicate effectively with all parties involved.
Responsibilities
- Oversee miscellaneous metals projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Work closely with the Detailing Manager to prepare and manage steel detailing and surveying of shop/fabrication drawings.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors of other trades to ensure smooth project progress.
- Prepare and negotiate change orders.
- Maintain "As Built" drawings.
- Create and establish project schedules.
- Coordinate with contractors and trades.
- Maintain positive client relationships.
- Read specifications and blueprints to determine material requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of the fabricating and erecting process of miscellaneous metals.
- Experience coordinating and supervising subcontracted vendors.
- Strong understanding of reading specifications and blueprints to accurately determine material requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skilled in using project management software to create and maintain schedules, track progress, and manage budgets (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, Tekla, Trimble, Powerfab, Fabtrol).
- Strong organizational skills to handle and maintain project documents in both hard copy and electronic formats.
- Excellent communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Valid US driver’s license.
