About the role
Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is an attached office of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, headed by the Director General of Foreign Trade. DGFT formulates and implements the Foreign Trade Policy to promote exports, issues scrips/authorizations to exporters, and monitors their obligations through regional offices. The Office of the Additional Director General of Foreign Trade (CLA) is seeking six Young Professional positions primarily in Law/Legal and related fields. The engagement is contractual, initially for one year, with possible extension based on performance and requirements.
Requirements
- Age should be below 35 years as on the closing date.
- Qualification from a recognised university.
- Law: Master’s Degree in Law / LL.B.
- For the Law/Legal position, a PG Diploma in a legal subject is advantageous.

Master’s Degree in Law / LLB from a recognised university.
Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
- Good presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to comprehend, analyse, and interpret policy documents, government notifications, reports, and data.
- Experience in research, report writing, and preparing presentations.
- Knowledge and effective use of AI tools and digital productivity tools.
- Knowledge of Foreign Trade Policy, export promotion schemes, and international trade-related matters (added advantage).
Benefits
- Leave entitlement: 1.5 days per completed month, subject to approval.
- Working hours: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on working days (with possible work beyond office hours, including weekends and holidays).
- Remuneration includes applicable PF/TDS deductions.
- No other allowances or monetary benefits are applicable.
Pay
Consolidated remuneration of ₹60,000 per month.
Schedule
Engagement is initially for one year, contractual, with extension based on performance and requirements. Work location: New Delhi.
