Overview
The Minister of Discipleship and Missions will work to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for outreach and making disciples at Trinity Baptist Church.
Responsibilities
Adult Discipleship
- Build relationships with the Sunday School teachers to foster community
- Work to equip the teachers for the task of teaching by but not limited to:
- Being an advisor to them
- Developing ongoing training, both methodological and theological, for the teachers
- Working to obtain resources (such as quarterlies, books, etc.) needed by the teachers
- Work to develop new teachers
- Work to develop new classes/small groups
- Plan and Implement EQUIP Sunday Night Discipleship ministry or any other means of small group meetings for the purpose of making disciples outside of Sunday morning
- Work with the lead pastor, elders, and staff for the implementation of the overall church program and ministry
- To lead Trinity in making the most effective use of its current space and make recommendations for future construction
- Provide oversight for the men's and women's ministries
Missions
- Develop and implement a plan for evangelism training
- Lead Trinity in the creation of evangelism opportunities and outreach into the community
- Network with other mission organizations, both local and national, to foster Kingdom growth and the involvement of Trinity in those missions
- Lead Trinity to be involved in 'hands-on' mission and service opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally
- Work with the established mission organizations at Trinity
Expectations of the Ministry of Adult Discipleship and Missions
- Be a servant leader
- Live an exemplary life, modeling the call, character, and competencies, becoming a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ
- Work to foster and maintain healthy relationships that reflect the values of the gospel within and outside of the congregation, including fellow staff members
- Participate in worship at the discretion and request of the lead pastor and/or the Minister of Music
- Be able to fill the pulpit at the request of the pastor
