Mining Engineer Intern

About the Role

This internship supports plant operations within the Aggregates line of business, providing hands-on experience in project work, production goals, and operational understanding at a quarry or aggregate site.

Responsibilities

• Apply educational knowledge to field-based projects.
• Assist in achieving production targets by collaborating with engineers, managers, and staff across departments.
• Complete technical projects to understand quarry and aggregate site operations.
• Learn the functions of production, maintenance, and quality departments.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mining Engineering or Geology (junior or senior).
• Strong work ethic, adaptability, and openness to change.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects.
• Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Combination of office and field work, with exposure to various weather conditions.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform manual labor tasks.

Pay

Hourly pay of $25.00.
