Miner - Experienced Loader/Operator

Lannon Stone Products is a mid-sized, privately held construction aggregates company with operations across Southeastern WI. This suburban mining environment and private ownership structure are the foundation for our commitment to building and operating great facilities for our neighbors, customers, employees, and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Understand the hazards of mining and actively plan to go home safe every day
- Develop technical skills as expert operators of haul trucks, skid loaders, front end loaders, dozers, back hoes, cranes, and even golf carts
- Participate in a world-class fleet maintenance program, working side-by-side with mechanics to fix equipment
- Repair, redesign, and build new rock processing equipment, including conveyors, screens, crushers, iron working, motor maintenance, and automation
- Develop the mine site in every way: berms, grading, shop and office cleaning, landscaping, and new facility construction
- Act as proactive planners who anticipate future problems, support one another, and prioritize safety
- Gather and utilize customer information to drive improvements, act with customers’ best interests in mind, and build trust through strong relationships
- Apply functional knowledge and expertise to perform at a high level
- Maintain honesty, directness, and constructive communication
- Demonstrate hard work, energy, and decisiveness in seizing opportunities
Requirements
- 3+ years operating front-end wheel loaders in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Embrace a team environment where all members contribute to the success of the operation
- Willing to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, learning and performing a variety of jobs
- Stress accountability and continuous improvement
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills (English at minimum, Spanish is a plus)
- Positive, courteous, helpful, polite, professional, and respectful attitude
- Punctual and reliable with good attendance
- Must pass pre-employment functional test, physical, and drug screen
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Physical and Mental Demands
- Frequently sit, crawl, climb, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Understand issues, problems, and opportunities to make timely and sound decisions
- Take responsibility for decisions and understand their impact and implications
Working Environment
- Up to 100% of time spent in manufacturing environments around industrial equipment
- Up to 100% of time spent driving and operating mobile equipment
- Outdoor weather conditions require attention to clothing layers and hydration depending on season
- Dynamic and ever-changing operation requiring flexibility
- Traveling between company sites is essential; reliable transportation required
Pay
$26–$35 hourly
