Mine Trainee

About the role

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Mine Trainee to learn how to perform any production job in the mine safely. This is a night shift position located at Fletcher Underground in Centerville, MO. The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently hand scale or mechanically scale mine back and roof bolt, as needed
• Crush ore and run skip pocket as needed
• Gain a general knowledge of the mining cycle, including drilling, blasting, and mucking
• Perform associated support jobs such as, transportation of explosives, operating a forklift, and preventative maintenance
• Learn basic maintenance, equipment cleaning, and underground housekeeping tasks needed to perform efficiently in the mine environment
• Conduct a pre-shift and work area inspection to ensure the work location and the equipment are safe and functioning properly
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
• 0-6 months of work experience
• Ability to obtain ATF clearance

• Frequently exposed to wet, humid conditions
• Works at heights of four feet or more, with fall protection

• Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds; frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds
