Mine, Project Laborer I (Fencing Project)

About the role

This role is an entry-level position reporting to Mine, Project Supervisor I. It will support mining operations on various projects at the Copper World Mine Site.

Responsibilities

• Assist various projects determined by the project supervisor
• Complete daily tasks issued by the project supervisor
• Site Maintenance: site preparation, construction, and maintenance of all projects (worksites); set up and teardown of projects (worksites); assist with upkeeping of projects: offices/workshop facilities
• pioneer, dig trenches, backfill, maintain roads & surface facilities; keep projects free of hazards
• Logistics & Support: load, unload, sort, stack & move materials, tools, supplies and equipment
• Tools/Equipment: operate, clean, and perform basic maintenance on hand/power tools and machinery
• Safety & Compliance: install safety barriers, berms, directional flagging, barricades, etc.; assess task hazards and add mitigative controls

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Authorization to work in U.S
• Clean driving record
• No prior formal experience in Mining or Labor work is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in fencing installation and maintenance
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively
• Current MSHA
• Reliable personal transportation to the site location

Physical And Work Requirements

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various conditions
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions such as hot, cold and/or dry conditions
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
