Key Areas Of Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead by example, in all of Marigold’s safety processes, ensuring safe practices are utilized while performing work.
- Utilizes computer technology and a work order system to troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment, including preventative maintenance and component replacement.
- Implements continuous improvement of maintenance strategy that fully utilizes available workforce to achieve maximum equipment availability.
- Interprets information from schematics, maintenance and parts manuals.
- Performs work area housekeeping duties.
- Inspects, tests and maintains all electrical mining equipment on site including Siemens, G.E., and P&H power and control A.C. variable frequency drive systems.
- Inspects, tests and maintains high voltage electric shovel substation switchgear.
- Inspects, tests and maintains high voltage shovel trailing cable including associated cable connections and cable testing devices.
- Uses voltmeters, ammeters and related testing apparatus to test defective equipment.
- Determines if work areas are safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.
- Determines severity of equipment down times and estimates time to make repairs.
- Ability to order correct parts for procurement from the warehouse or supplier.
- Responsible for compliance with company contamination control policies.
- Unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship including immediately reporting and mitigating spills and other environmental impacts.
Required Skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively, in English using all standard forms of business communication.
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
- Clear understanding and willingness to observe and practice company SOPs and policies.
- Strong understanding of safety policies and procedures relating to mine equipment and maintenance practices (i.e. guarding, blocking, lock out tag out).
- Knowledge and skills to operate and understand diagnostic equipment including computerized instrumentation.
- Ability to work safely and recognize electrical hazards.
- Ability to examine tools and equipment for safety and install safety devices.
- Ability to read electrical prints and schematics and to utilize appropriate test equipment.
- Ability to utilize basic hand tools.
Required Experience
- Consistent attendance.
- Valid Driver License.
- A minimum of 2 years electrical experience in a mining environment is preferred.
- MSHA electrical cards preferred, but not required.
- Individuals with strong experience in heavy equipment electrical systems preferred.
- Strong background with P&H Shovels, Komatsu 930 haul trucks high voltage electrical preferred.
