About the role

Fabricates, installs and repairs machinery and equipment in industrial establishments. Maintains 5S standards and performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities as required. Communicates with co-workers from previous and following shifts to discuss problems and concerns. Participates in continuous improvement activities. Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Operates lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. Repairs and maintains material handling devices, including hoists, carts, and forklifts. Installs and maintains building, grounds, utilities, air conditioning systems, and compressed air systems. Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment. Orders supplies with purchase requisitions according to work orders assigned through the Maintenance Supervisor. Completes work orders upon completion. Observes and listens to mechanical devices in operation to troubleshoot any issues. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examines form and texture of mechanical parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used mechanical parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairs and replaces defective mechanical parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Starts devices to test their performance. Records maintenance actions performed in a computerized maintenance system. Completes other tasks within job classification as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Assists other associates as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Supports Engineering with projects.

Requirements

Associate degree in mechanical-related field or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of TS-16949 Quality Systems Requirements, ISO-14001 Environmental Management Systems, problem-solving skills, Fork Lift and Scissor Lifts.
