Position Summary: Responsible for fabricating, fitting, and applying insulation to the pipe on a job site.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and layouts
• Level and align pump bases
• Level and align equipment such as compressors, turbines, paper machines and centrifuge
• Conduct pump repair and maintenance
• Set impeller clearance on pumps
• Set fan blades
• Alignment of motor to gearbox
• Measurement of precision fits

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience
• NCCER Plus - Preferred

Qualifications

• Knowledge of reverse alignment (where required)
• Knowledge of different types of metals
• Knowledge of different types of bearings
• Knowledge of mechanical seals
• Knowledge of tandem seals
• Knowledge of compression packing
• Knowledge of multi-stage pumps
• Knowledge of vertical pumps
• Knowledge of different types of drive coupling
• Knowledge of cooling tower fan units
• Knowledge of gearboxes and agitators
• Knowledge of gas turbines (where applicable)
• Knowledge of steam turbines
• Knowledge of centrifugal compressor
• Knowledge of reciprocal compressor
• Knowledge of machine shop equipment
• Knowledge of hydraulic reading
• Knowledge of IRD reading

• Ability to complete physical functions including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and other repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodation.
