About the role
A Machinist produces precisely engineered parts used to build can manufacturing equipment. Their duties include completing repairs, setting up equipment, operating equipment, and inspecting finished parts.
Responsibilities
- Layout and install machinery.
- Layout and perform various fabrication, repair, or modify assessments.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Make up, repair, adjust, and maintain various conveying equipment including elevators, palletizers, track work, and cableways.
- Use various hand and power tools.
- Weld and buildup worn machine parts using gas or electric welding equipment.
- Determine and make the most efficient set-ups.
- Ensure that GMP's (General Manufacturing Practices), safety rules, and regulations are being followed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Technical degree preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of mechanical principles involved in repair and overhaul work.
- Familiar with hand tools, power tools, hoists, lubricating equipment, gas and electrical welding, and burning apparatus.
- Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
