About the role

A Machinist produces precisely engineered parts used to build can manufacturing equipment. Their duties include completing repairs, setting up equipment, operating equipment, and inspecting finished parts.

Responsibilities

• Layout and install machinery.
• Layout and perform various fabrication, repair, or modify assessments.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Make up, repair, adjust, and maintain various conveying equipment including elevators, palletizers, track work, and cableways.
• Use various hand and power tools.
• Weld and buildup worn machine parts using gas or electric welding equipment.
• Determine and make the most efficient set-ups.
• Ensure that GMP's (General Manufacturing Practices), safety rules, and regulations are being followed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Technical degree preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of mechanical principles involved in repair and overhaul work.
• Familiar with hand tools, power tools, hoists, lubricating equipment, gas and electrical welding, and burning apparatus.
• Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
