About the role

Assist with installing machinery and equipment according to general arrangement layout plans, blueprints, specifications, and other drawings in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing machinery and equipment according to general arrangement layout plans, blueprints, specifications, and other drawings in an industrial environment
• Help to dismantle and repair machinery and equipment using hammers, wrenches, crowbar, and other hand tools
• Assist in moving machinery and equipment using winches, jacks, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
• Assist in assembling and installing machinery and equipment such as shafting, conveyors, pulpers, vats, agitators, tram rails, pumps, and motors using hand tools and power tools
• Assist in constructing foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement, and steel
• Set base plates to line and level and installs grout beneath them
• Assist with installing couplings and bearings, both interference and slip-fit

Qualifications

• Some experience in a construction environment is preferred
• Must have some understanding or experience with blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Must have some experience or knowledge of using hand tools, power tools, hoists, jacks, squares, rules, scales, laser alignment machines, optical levels, and plumb bobs
• Must have some experience in using precision tools such as inside & outside micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
• Good troubleshooting skills
