Millwright

West Fraser’s Angelina, TX sawmill is looking for an industrial millwright. This role is a key player in a company-wide continuous improvement effort through daily use of troubleshooting, predictive, and preventative maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including conveying systems and major machine centers such as debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers
• Read and understand drawings and printed instructions
• Work safely under high-pressure situations as a self-starter
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of line-ups for pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers
• Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
• Adjust tension on nuts and bolts or position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb tools
• Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools
• Layout mounting holes using measuring instruments and drill holes with a power drill
• Replace defective parts of a machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts
• Level bedplate and establish centerline using straightedge, levels, and transit
• Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools
• Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly units using hand tools and power tools

Requirements

• Cutting torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene)
• Welding experience (GMAW and SMAW)
• Safety-oriented with compliance to ZES (Zero Energy State) standards
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and be on-call to support 24/7 operations
• 3 years of millwright work experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
