Responsibilities
- Repair, troubleshoot, install and move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
- Reads repair documents, manuals, blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Dismantles machines, using manual, hydraulic, pneumatic, and precision tools of the trade.
- Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, bearings, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand and power tools.
- Constructs foundation for machines, using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
- Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs and other precision tools.
- Assembles machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structure, using hand and power tools.
- Mechanically repair cranes (overhead, mobile, rail and track).
- Repair mobile equipment (rail, rubber tire and track driven).
- Arc welding.
- Track work/back-up roll bearing maintenance and repair using our maintenance management system.
Requirements
- Journeyman Level Millwright or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Ability to set up, tear down, and rebuild machinery and equipment.
- Ability to operate mobile and bridge cranes.
- Ability to operate forklift.
- Ability to use all sizes of air impact and electric wrenches, all pipe fitting tools and equipment; i.e. sockets and ratchets, hoists, both electric and manual; jackhammer; cutting torches; welding equip.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to use computer programs.
- Excellent written, oral communication and organizational skills.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Basic math skills, some exposure to Geometry, Trigonometry preferred.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Preferred 4 years’ experience in Heavy Industrial Plant Maintenance.
- Specific Training on Bearing Maintenance, Inspection and assembly.
- Ivara specific training to set up tracking programs with documents, tasks and procedures.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, ultra sound, laser alignment, etc).
