Responsibilities

  • Repair, troubleshoot, install and move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Read repair documents, manuals, blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantle machines, using manual, hydraulic, pneumatic, and precision tools of the trade.
  • Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, bearings, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand and power tools.
  • Construct foundation for machines, using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs and other precision tools.
  • Assemble machines, and bolt, weld, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structure, using hand and power tools.
  • Mechanically repair cranes (overhead, mobile, rail and track).
  • Repair mobile equipment (rail, rubber tire and track driven).
  • Arc welding.
  • Track work/back-up roll bearing maintenance and repair using our maintenance management system.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Level Millwright or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings
  • Ability to set up, tear down, and rebuild machinery and equipment
  • Ability to operate mobile and bridge cranes
  • Ability to operate forklift
  • Ability to use all sizes of air impact and electric wrenches, all pipe fitting tools and equipment; i.e. sockets and ratchets, hoists, both electric and manual; jackhammer; cutting torches; welding equipment
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to use computer programs
  • Excellent written, oral communication and organizational skills
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Basic math skills, some exposure to Geometry, Trigonometry preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years’ experience in Heavy Industrial Plant Maintenance
  • Specific Training on Bearing Maintenance, Inspection and assembly
  • Ivara specific training to set up tracking programs with documents, tasks and procedures
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, ultrasound, laser alignment, etc)
