Job Summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, a leading General Contractor in the Southeast, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Millwright to join our ever‑growing team. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of mechanical systems and machinery, with the ability to diagnose and repair industrial equipment. A strong commitment to safety, precision, and quality is essential.

Responsibilities

• Repair industrial equipment and ensure high‑quality workmanship.
• Teardown and assembly of machinery in line with strict specifications and safety standards.
• Utilize an array of tools—including power tools, micrometers, and bore gauges—to ensure accurate assembly and upkeep.
• Perform welding tasks as needed to support repairs or modifications.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues that arise during operations.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Millwright or in a similar industrial role.
• Familiarity with oxy‑acetylene torches and mechanical component teardown/assembly.
• Skilled in various welding techniques and best practices.
• Ability to operate forklifts safely.
• Strong understanding of power tools and their proper usage.
• Exceptional attention to detail and advanced problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
• Unwavering commitment to safety standards and protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Millwright in construction or industrial maintenance (preferably a steel mill).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work autonomously or collaboratively.
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
