Location: Horsham, Pennsylvania

Pay

$32.02–34.45 per hour (depending on experience) with a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 1st shift (7:00 AM–3:00 PM), 5 days a week with additional overtime as needed.

While reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Millwright performs essential maintenance functions. The following duties are not exhaustive; employees are expected to assume any and all duties assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for safe performance of the work assignment.
• Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, installs, erects, moves, and/or dismantles all types of machinery and auxiliary production equipment.
• Inspects job site and equipment to be dismantled, erected, or moved; analyzes blueprints and schematics; estimates weight of loads to be handled, lifted, clearances, and recommends support equipment needed.
• Selects and transports tools, machinery, and materials needed for assignment.
• Fabricates sheet metal and structural units (guarding, steps, stairs, conveyors, elevators, platforms) as needed and sets units in place.
• Splices ropes and cables as required.
• Performs preventative maintenance for building and grounds as necessary.
• Repairs and maintains all assigned machines and equipment, including preventative maintenance.
• Performs organizational duties including maintaining an organized and clean work area.
• Communicates pertinent information to the next shift.
• Performs clean-up, painting, and housekeeping duties.
• Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
• Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, division, group, and company.
• Required to work assigned schedule or 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights, Monday through Sunday; working hours may vary as specified by management.
• Must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required between the assigned start and end times of work.
• Performs duties without posing a direct threat to anyone or to property.
• Communicates effectively, writes effectively, reads, comprehends, and follows complicated verbal and written instructions.
• Assures and maintains safe and healthful working conditions while enforcing safety rules and regulations.
• Follows company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in the Ball Metalpack manuals.
• Works in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school education, General Education Development (GED), or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to work overtime if needed.
