Millwright - 3rd Shift

Requirements

Minimum basic skills and abilities for the position are as follows:

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Wood Products or related industry as a mechanical millwright
• Attend West Fraser Qualified Millwright Training
• Complete competency checklist per level
• Score a 21 on the Mechanical Reasoning assessment and Level 1 on the Millwright assessment
• Own tools

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace, and maintain all mobile equipment parts as well as chains, sprockets, bearings, belts, gearboxes, motors, etc.
• Metal fabrication
• Welding: arc, acetylene, and others
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
• Align and calibrate equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Use hand and power tools: drill, sander, grinder, band saw, etc.
• Construction and structural assembly
• Read measurements in English and Metric systems using tape, caliper, ruler, and other tools
• Work safely and ensure quality workmanship
• Assign work and confirm completion
• Direct and ensure quality work from contractors
• Issue hot work permits to meet AON guidelines

• Maintain a clean working area, including shop, field area, vehicle, and tools
