About the role

At Doug Ashy Building Materials, we are seeking a Full-time Millwork-Warehouse employee to join our team. This position is responsible for unloading, loading, and managing materials in our warehouse and millwork yard.

Responsibilities

  • Unloads millwork & building materials received by vendor, delivery, and transfer trucks.
  • Compares purchase orders and delivery documents to verify product accuracy, size, quantity and quality.
  • Loads products for delivery and will call customers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of orders.
  • Completes required paperwork, including tickets, credit memos, and receiving documentation.
  • Stocks materials received from transfers and vendor deliveries in appropriate locations.
  • Affixes return labels and prepares materials for return to vendor, ensuring all return documentation is completed.
  • Performs daily inspections and maintenance logs on forklifts and reports any issues to supervisor.
  • Maintains organization, cleanliness, and safety within the warehouse and millwork yard.
  • Reports safety concerns or inventory discrepancies promptly to supervisors.
  • Supports the team by performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of millwork and/or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret paperwork and measurements accurately.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and operate basic cutting tools (e.g. table saw, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are a must.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Available to work every other Saturday (half-day) or as needed, based on business needs.
  • Professional attitude and good customer service skills when interacting with clients and team members.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
