About the role

The ideal Mill Supervisor at Mennel Milling is sought after to lead and develop a team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality milling operations. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining compliance with industry standards and managing daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, GFSI, FSMA, and HSE guidelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for milling process issues, troubleshooting, and operational problem-solving.
  • Oversee wheat receiving, cleaning, transfers, and general mill housekeeping.
  • Manage daily production schedules and run plans.
  • Supervise shift personnel and administer corrective action when needed.
  • Support mill operators and team leads to maintain production flow.
  • Collaborate with logistics on scheduling and shipment concerns.
  • Manage staffing, employee call-offs, and shift coverage.
  • Train operators on equipment, safety, and SOPs.
  • Handle attendance, performance discussions, and employee development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Milling, Engineering, EHS, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with union-represented employees (preferred).
  • Strong communication, reasoning, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to heights, weather, temperature variations, airborne particles, and wheat allergens.
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, climb, kneel, twist, and lift 50+ lbs.
