Mill Operator Trainee

About the role

Maintain and operate concentrator equipment at an underground molybdenum mining operation located approximately 42 miles west of Denver. The Henderson mine has been in operation since 1976 and today consists of a large block-cave underground mining complex feeding a concentrator with a current capacity of approximately 32,000 metric tons per day, producing approximately 15 million pounds of molybdenum per year. The Henderson mill is located 15 miles west of the mine, between Dillon and Kremmling, surrounded by US Forest Service land of the Arapaho National Forest.

What You Will Do

• Make guided decisions to support the primary objective of safe production
• Maintain and operate concentrator equipment
• Perform detailed inspections of operating equipment and operational areas
• Assist with maintenance activities
• Complete area housekeeping duties
• Learn and understand basic metallurgical milling principles
• Perform other tasks as assigned

What You Bring

• Three (3) months work experience
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude
• Must demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required, based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge, as well as safety
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
• Knowledge of milling, crushing and conveying equipment, including operating parameters, limits and functionality of equipment

Pay

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $22.00 - $29.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.

Schedule

Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
