Mill Operator Trainee

ASSA ABLOY branded company Ameristar Perimeter Security USA is seeking a Mill Operator Trainee in Tulsa, OK.

About the role

This 1st-shift position (Monday–Thursday, 5:00 am–3:30 pm) focuses on roll-form operations and equipment to ensure continuous mill operation during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety, quality, and operational continuity above all else.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area following 5S principles.
• Cross-train team members on parts programming and mill setups.
• Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on process equipment.
• Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department supervisor.
• Conduct visual and manual quality checks of finished products.
• Minimize scrap and work hands-on with maintenance to resolve issues promptly.
• Document downtime using a seamless reporting system to support KPI tracking.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure continuous mill flow and proper product tagging.
• Adapt to schedule changes and mill conditions while contributing to continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using special measuring devices such as calipers and tape measures.
• Ability to learn equipment safety and operation from experienced operators.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to retain new information.
• Demonstrated ability to meet negotiated time frames.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Effective communication skills to support teamwork and mill operations.
• Flexibility to react to schedule changes and mill conditions.
• Commitment to being a valued team member in continuous improvement efforts.

Monday–Thursday, 5:00 am–3:30 pm.
