Mill Operator - Nights

Hours are generally 7:00 pm to 3:00 am, but could adjust based on business needs.

About the role

Primary duties include the manufacturing of livestock feed and all related paperwork. Additional duties include loading/unloading trucks, customer service, grounds and equipment maintenance, warehouse maintenance, forklift operation, and grain handling.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and efficiently with little or no supervision
• Assist other mill employees with operating activities
• Operate scales for inbound and outbound trucks
• Perform basic preventative maintenance, including housekeeping items
• Understand feed ingredients and proper handling techniques
• Accurately distribute feed directly to a feed truck
• Operate equipment safely
• Consistently follow all laws, regulations, and safety rules
• Properly complete necessary paperwork and records
• Assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Computer skills and ability to learn new software
• Understanding of safe working conditions and operations of vehicles
• Willingness and ability to work well with others, take and give constructive criticism, and lend a helping hand
• Ability to use analytical techniques for problem solving, coordination, and decision making
• Mechanical interest and aptitude are beneficial
• Driven, organized, and punctual
• Team-oriented
• Great attention to detail

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Agriculture background a plus
