Mill Operator

About the role

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking a Roll Form Mill Operator for a 2nd shift position from Monday to Friday, 3:00pm to 1:30am.

Responsibilities

• Safety, quality, priorities above all
• Focus on the keeping the mill operational
• Maintain clean, safe, organized work area, 5S
• Cross Training of team members on parts programming and mill set ups
• TPM of process and equipment in the area
• Cook daily and weekly activities with department supervisor
• Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products
• Minimize scrap
• Work with maintenance hands on to get issues resolved in a timely manner

Requirements

• Education: High school or equivalent
• Experience:
  • Experience in using special measuring devices, calipers, tape measure
  • Must be able to navigate, set up equipment controller for proper operation and parts programming
  • Roll Tooling experience with set ups and change over
  • Change out press dies, cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels of equipment
  • Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames
  • Good Mechanical Aptitude
  • Forklift and overhead crane certification
  • Experience with Robot programming
• Other:
  • Must be able to document down time through seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking
  • Good communication skills with coworkers to insure continuous flow of the mill and material handler for proper tagging of product
  • Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill
  • Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities

Skills

• Experience with roll tooling, including set ups and change overs
• Experience changing out press dies, cut off jaws, blades, and refilling oil levels of equipment
• Ability to meet negotiated time frames

• Forklift and overhead crane certification
• Experience with robot programming
