About the role

This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills gained through military service in the fast-paced world of Commercial banking and Credit Analysis. This position is right for you if you have 3-5 years of active duty military leadership experience with a strong preference for combat arms and a passion to start a career in finance and commercial banking.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis: Evaluate the financial health of businesses by analyzing their financial statements, cash flow, and other relevant data.
  • Risk Assessment: Assess the risk associated with lending to a particular borrower, considering industry trends, market conditions, and the borrower's credit history.
  • Credit Scoring: Use various scoring models to quantify the creditworthiness of applicants and assign credit scores based on factors like payment history, credit utilization, and length of credit history.
  • Report Preparation: Compile findings into detailed reports that outline the assessment of the applicant's creditworthiness, including financial ratios, risk analysis, and recommendations for loan terms or credit limits.
  • Communication: Interact with borrowers to gather additional information, clarify financial details, and discuss potential concerns. Collaborate with colleagues, such as loan officers and underwriters, to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of each application.

Requirements

We are looking for dedicated and motivated active-duty military veterans to join our team for a Military SkillBridge Internship. Our program identifies veterans who have a desire to cut their chops in finance, arms them with an industry-leading financial modeling certification, and places them in finance roles with screened and qualified firms looking for transitioned veterans.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of active duty military leadership experience (preference for combat arms, but not required).
  • A passion to start a career in finance and commercial banking.
  • Honorable service and exemplary service evaluations.
  • Desire for leadership opportunities in the finance world after proving your ability to "run through walls" in the short term.
  • Willingness to virtually attend a no-cost financial modeling certification program and test prior to transition.
