Military officer

About the role

Military officers lead and command service members, planning and directing operations and bearing responsibility for their units. The work involves making command decisions under pressure and sometimes danger, motivating and developing troops, planning missions, and exercising ethical judgment about the use of force. Officers serve across the branches of the armed forces.

The role suits disciplined, decisive leaders who can carry life-and-death responsibility, earn the trust of those they command, and combine tactical and strategic thinking with the moral weight that military leadership demands.
