About the role
The SNC's Military Fellowship Program provides up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members, preparing them for full-time civilian work. Participants gain valuable experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks.
Responsibilities
- Research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify, and improve cutting-edge products and services using advanced engineering principles and practices.
- Develop complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, progressing through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test phases.
- Lead system-level ownership of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating with multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
- Contribute to the ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area, which integrates innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems.
- Collaborate on projects that require practical knowledge of engineering principles, industry-standard mechanical design principles, and advanced tools like DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, and MATLAB.
- Manage requirements, perform functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation, and apply systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification, and management strategies.
- Engage in verification and validation (V&V) processes to ensure the quality and reliability of products and services.
Requirements
- Currently serving on active duty and eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program.
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering or a related field, with typically 2 or more years of relevant experience.
- Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
- Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles.
- Experience or certification in INCOSE standards.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
- Exposure to baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures.
- Understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM).

- This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military.

Pay
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $85,768.30 - $117,931.40. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
