Military Fellowship Program: Systems Engineer
About the role
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area at SNC is a leader in ISR and aviation, offering innovative, high-performance systems. It provides comprehensive C4ISR capabilities from design to logistics support, and has a strong track record of delivering projects on time and under budget.
Responsibilities
- Research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify, and improve cutting-edge products and services
- Develop complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, progressing through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools
- Lead system-level ownership of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle
Requirements
- Currently serving as active duty military and eligible for DoD SkillBridge program
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering or related discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience
- Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
Qualifications
- Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as Jama, Cameo, SYSML, Jira, Confluence
- Practical knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, including requirements management and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Experience in establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, proficiency in engineering software, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
