About the role

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.

Responsibilities

  • Work in multidisciplinary teams to bring concept of operations to fruition to further our customers’ mission objectives.
  • Research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services.
  • Consult with program management, design engineers, quality, and production teams in order to develop the most efficient and cost effective means of producing our products at the highest level of quality possible.
  • Review engineering designs for producibility and the development of tooling and fixtures, work instructions, production process and procedures.
  • Apply manufacturing technologies and industry best practices during the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • You Must Have:
    • Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
    • Bachelor's of Science degree in related engineering discipline and typically 0-2 years of relevant experience
    • Basic understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
    • Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices
    • Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Security Clearance
  • We Prefer:
    • Familiarity in applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
    • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
    • Knowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes
    • Familiarity with work instruction/traveler development
    • Experience with new product introduction and transition to production
    • Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems

The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Pay

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $64,853.15 - $89,173.08. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
