About the role

The Hawaii State Department of Education seeks qualified candidates for a 1st semester only teaching position. The ideal candidate should possess a valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
  • Exercise independent and professional judgment in carrying out daily functions.
  • Maintain an effective work pace under pressure to meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.
  • Desired Experience: Special education classroom experience in a K-12 school setting.
  • Desired Knowledge: Knowledge of planning and facilitating IEP meetings; ability to exercise independent and professional judgment; maintaining an effective work pace under pressure; grasping new concepts quickly and applying them effectively; working effectively with others.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.
