Job Summary
Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking a Milieu Counselor for the Adolescent Psychiatry unit. The position is 32 hours per week, part-time, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for 32-40 hour positions.
About the Role
The Milieu Counselor is a member of the multidisciplinary team responsible for ensuring a safe and structured environment for patients in crisis. They assist with daily living activities, perform safety protocols, conduct one-on-one meetings, and document vital signs and intake/output.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Lead or co-lead groups
- Perform regular safety protocols
- Conduct 1:1 meetings with patients
- Accurately chart patients' blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and weight
- Notify the registered nurse of any changes in vital signs
- Maintain patients' nutritional and hydration needs
- Accurately measure and document a patient's intake and output
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the charge RN
Qualifications/Experience
- High school diploma required; B.A., B.S., or M.A. preferred or equivalent years of human service experience
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Prior human services, inpatient behavioral, or psychiatric experience strongly preferred
- All newly hired candidates must successfully complete a job-specific physical test
