Migrant Services Worker 8-E10 - Agricultural Employment Liaison
About the role
Migrant Service Workers (MSWs) conduct significant outreach efforts in the field to locate and contact Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers (MSFWs) who are not being reached by the normal intake activities of employment service offices. MSWs will explain—through written and oral presentations in a language readily understood by MSFWs—the services available at local one-stop centers, including referrals to training, supportive services, career services, and specific employment opportunities. They will also distribute information on the employment service complaint system, other organizations serving MSFWs, and a basic summary of farmworker rights, including rights related to terms and conditions of employment.
This position requires considerable travel and the ability to work flexible hours when the majority of MSFWs are in the assigned geographical area. MSWs will promote the Agricultural Recruitment System (ARS) with agricultural employers and MSFW service provider groups to support employers in meeting their labor needs.
