About the role

Champlain Valley Hops LLC is seeking 6 full-time seasonal positions for the hop production season starting in early April and ending in late September. The position involves preparing beds, stringing, training, irrigation management, fertility, pest/weed management, and harvesting hops.

Responsibilities

• Preparing beds, stringing, and training hops to grow to the top of the trellis
• Catching up on general farm upkeep, including weeding and maintaining plant health
• Harvesting hops, including operating picking machines, sorting waste material, loading cones into dryers, and baling cones
• Cleaning and organizing the hop yard after harvest
• Transporting workers between housing, farm properties, and other locations as needed

Requirements

• 1 month experience in duties listed
• Lifting requirement: up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures
• Frequent pushing, pulling, sitting, or walking
• Repetitive movements

Qualifications

The successful candidate must be able to perform the work described and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in box 3 & 4, page 1.
