About the role

Allen Brothers, Inc. is seeking 6 full-time seasonal positions in Westminster, VT for the planting, cultivating, and harvesting of diversified ground crops.

Responsibilities

• Operate and repair farm machinery
• Drive trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers, tools, supplies, or crops
• Perform tasks such as washing, culling, and prepping produce, planting in greenhouses, and transplanting crops in fields
• Perform field work including hand weeding, thinning, and hoeing
• Harvest crops according to quality and method of employer
• Work in varying weather conditions from extremely cold in the spring and fall to hot and humid in the summer
• Stand, bend, and kneel for long periods of time
• Lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance

Requirements

• 2 months experience in duties listed
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
• Exposure to extreme temperatures
• Extensive pushing or pulling
• Extensive sitting or walking
• Frequent stooping or bending over
• Repetitive movements

Pay

The pay range is $18.83 - $19.23 per hour.

Schedule

Workers will work a 10-hour shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Saturday. Workers may be required to work on Sundays. Workers will be given 30 minutes for lunch and a 15-minute break in the morning and afternoon. The exact starting and ending times each day, as well as the number of hours per day, will vary depending on the weather and crop conditions.
