What Drives Success

A Welder for Lennox AES at our Tallassee, AL location is a skilled position responsible for completing basic welding and fabrication tasks with precision and expertise. This role involves working with various materials, such as galvanized steel and aluminum, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring the quality and integrity of our products (roof curbs, drop boxes, etc.).

Duties

  • Fabricate custom and standard products from blueprints with high attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Communicate with shop manager and engineering on product issues and assist with streamlining methods for production.
  • MIG weld 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel for adapters, curbs, and other products.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
  • Under direct supervision, spot weld metal components together.

What We Are Looking For

  • Familiar with safe welding practices.
  • Capable of learning to read fabrication drawings with some instruction.
  • Capable of welding 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel. (Can be taught)
  • Must be physically capable of loading fabrication parts onto the weld table.
  • Capable of blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
  • Individual must be a self-starter and need minimal guidance on daily task.
  • Must be quality oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, diagrams.
  • Individual must have a working knowledge of MIG welding machines with respect to preventive maintenance and control settings to obtain maximum efficiencies.
  • Able to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.

Education/Experience

  • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PREFERRED: Trade school or certification in welding.
  • REQUIRED: 1-year previous MIG welding experience.
  • Able to work with a positive attitude and in a team setting.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

Compensation

This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay for this role is $19.50/hour. Factors that may affect the full pay range for employees in this role and market include geography/market and the individual’s tenure, performance, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
