Responsibilities
- Acquaint yourself with all new and established patients, providing plan/setting expectations for visit and guide patients to examination rooms
- Accompanies the physician into the exam room to transcribe the history of the examination as given by the patient and the physician
- Under the direction of the physician, transcribes the impression and plan, results of tests, prescriptions, and orders
- Documents and aids in any procedural set that may be performed by the physician
- Document all history and testing information accurately and consistently
- Summarize all exam details from physician into patients’ electronic chart, including but not limited to: proper charting of examination, additions to chief complaint, physician assessment and recommendations for treatment
- Other duties as assigned or directed by your supervisor
Requirements
- Experience as a Medical Scribe is required. Ophthalmology and retina experience preferred.
- You should be able to communicate professionally, be comfortable working in a medical environment, be highly organized, have a strong customer service background, possess excellent computer and organizational skills, and champion a welcoming/friendly demeanor
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Medical Terminology
- Working knowledge of eye anatomy, retina disease, and ocular medications
- Basic to advanced computer skills required
- Strong written and verbal communication

- Associate Degree or higher/ equivalent working experience preferred
