Job Summary
The Weekend Supervisor oversees the care management of a population of patients within an assigned clinical function. The position conducts the nursing process under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensure. The position coordinates resource utilization, timely and appropriate care interventions, and interdisciplinary communication to enhance patient and family satisfaction, adherence to center’s clinical systems and regulatory compliance.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Demonstrates the knowledge and clinical expertise required to effectively supervise all nursing activities in the facility or the units to which assigned.
- Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems relative to the unit(s).
- Affords assessments and evaluations of the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality Resident care.
- Affords assessments and evaluations of the performance and competency of staff on unit(s).
- Utilizes a systematic approach to provide individualized nursing care.
- Collaborates with the Resident, members of the healthcare team and, when appropriate, the Resident’s significant other(s) in the interest of the Resident’s healthcare.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Supervises employees in the department and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible by following policies and applicable laws.
- Uses independent judgment and discretion on behalf of the organization in the performance of these duties.

- Interviews, hires, and trains Nursing employees, such as CNAs and Nurses; assigns and directs work; receives calls and finds replacements for absent staff; prepares performance evaluations, monitors and corrects job performance of employees, quality checks or audits for clinical review, and handles disciplinary action for employees.
Education
- Licensed RN or LPN.
Experience
- Two years' experience as a RN or LPN.
