The Middleware Integration API-SOA Developer will design and develop new integration scope on the full suite of Mission Critical API-SOA platforms, including Apigee API Management, Axway API Gateway, and Oracle SOA Suite. This role also requires participation in a Production support rotation, sustaining these integration platforms and delivering innovative, high-quality support services to customers. Due to high interaction with both internal and external business partners, strong communication skills, teamwork, and independent troubleshooting are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the functional roadmap and API-SOA strategy for the Enterprise, including input into processes, policies, standards, or operating plans.
  • Provide engineering input into the overall architecture of API/EAI/SOA solutions.
  • Design and build transformations of various integration streams (B2B-EDI, XML) into internal and external system formats, collaborating with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and customers to refine requirements and document technical designs.
  • Support detailed reviews of design and code to ensure maximum use of reusable modules, minimal impact on existing systems, and high overall quality.
  • Perform unit, integration, and stress testing of interfaces using vendor tools and external test simulation tools.
  • Provide advanced problem-solving and technical support, including on-call critical support, and assist in continuous review and enhancement of team procedures to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Serve on a 24x7 on-call support rotation for Mission Critical applications.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of related experience (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience interfacing with technical and non-technical staff at all organizational levels, with a strong work ethic, perseverance, and a customer-service approach.
  • Advanced knowledge of Application Programming Interface (API), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) technologies.
  • Basic understanding of EDI collaboration and related supply chain, logistics, and financial transaction sets.
  • Advanced development knowledge in Apigee API Management, Axway API Gateway, or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) such as Oracle SOA Suite.
  • Experience with J2EE, XML, HTTP, JMS, SQL, XSLT, and/or XQuery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of log monitoring and log aggregation tools such as Splunk Enterprise or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux OS and Oracle DB environments as they relate to interface development and support.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow Incident and Change management or equivalent.
  • Experience with source control system integration with API-SOA, especially SVN.
  • SAFe Agile trained or certified.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits depend on the business unit and whether the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may also be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, depending on the level of the position and whether it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these programs are not guaranteed and depend on individual, business unit, and company performance.
