About the Community

Grand Rapids School is a Nursery to Grade 12 school with approximately 440 students, located in Grand Rapids, Manitoba, on the northwestern shore of Lake Winnipeg. The school serves the community of Grand Rapids and Misipawistik Cree Nation. The lakeside town offers community services such as cell service, high‑speed internet, recreation centre, health centre with ambulance service, air ambulance service, two gas stations, restaurants and a grocery store.

What You Bring

• Bachelor of Education degree and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
• A sound knowledge of provincial curricula
• Previous teaching experience
• A sound knowledge and experience with school‑based technology
• Strong classroom management skills
• Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life (considered an asset)
• Experience working in a northern community (considered an asset)
