Middle School Track and Field - YES Prep Fifth Ward Secondary (26-27)

The Role

When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:

• Organizing practices and games
• Making sure student athletes stay on track academically
• Providing an orientation to new student athletes
• Communicating with coaches and the athletic director
• Ensuring the athlete is a student first, with academics taking priority over athletics
• Being punctual to all scheduled athletic events
• Training student athletes to be in peak physical condition
• Staying with the team until the last student-athlete and their parents/guardians
• Collecting athlete documentation such as physicals and other important paperwork

Other traits needed and desired for this role are:

• 0-3 years of coaching experience
• Strong knowledge of specific sport including rules, terminology, etc.
• A valid certification for both CPR and AED use from a nationally recognized organization, or attending a district required training to become certified within a given time frame
• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
• Continued Education in specific sport
• Coached specific sport
• Experience working with kids
