MS Boys Basketball - YES Prep Southwest Secondary (26-27)

The Role

When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:

• Organizing practices and games
• Making sure student athletes keep up with their studies throughout the school year
• Issuing and collecting uniforms
• Welcoming new student athletes and explaining the program
• Communicating with coaches and the athletic director about student athletes’ progress
• Ensuring the athlete is a student first; academics come before athletics
• Being on time for all scheduled athletic events
• Training student-athletes to be in top physical condition
• Putting the team first, but making sure each student-athlete is taken care of
• Collecting necessary documents like physicals and paperwork to stay compliant with state and YES Prep policies

Other traits needed and desired for this role are:

• 0-3 years of coaching experience
• Strong knowledge of specific sport including rules, terminology, etc.
• A valid certification for both CPR and AED use from a nationally recognized organization, or attending a district required training to become certified within a given time frame
• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
• Continued Education in specific sport
• Coached specific sport
• Experience working with kids

THE MUST HAVES

• 0-3 years of coaching experience

• Must hold a valid certification for both CPR and AED use from a nationally recognized organization, or attend a district required training to become certified within a given time frame

• Compensation – This position is a temporary, non-exempt, hourly position. 26-27 rates are not guaranteed for future school years.
