Job Description

The Hidden Valley Middle School in Jordan School District seeks a dedicated 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher to join their collaborative educational team. The ideal candidate will design and implement rigorous instruction aligned with state standards in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. They will analyze complex texts with students, develop critical thinking and analytical skills, and prepare learners for the transition to high school.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging lesson plans
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Absess student progress
• Participate in Professional Learning Community (PLC) processes

Requirements

• Required: Required: Required Utah teaching license with ELA endorsement
• Prior experience with middle school students preferred

Salary Schedules & Licensure Requirements

All applicants must have a Professional Educator License awarded by the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) or apply for an Associate Educator License (AEL) to be eligible to apply to Jordan School District and participate in their Alternate Pathway to Professional Educator Licensing (APPEL) Program when hired. Proof of an AEL is required before you will be added to the candidate pool. Proof of enrollment in a teacher certification program at a local university will also be accepted in lieu of an AEL.

UTAH STATE RETIREMENT

Benefit eligible employees are automatically members of the Utah Retirement Systems (URS). This means that the District contributes into the URS plan on your behalf each month. After the URS vesting period of four years, you will have either the Hybrid option, which is a combination of a pension with a 401k plan, or the 401k option if you choose.
