Job Summary

Job Responsibilities
- Instruction & Curriculum
- Design and deliver rigorous, developmentally appropriate lessons in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literature.
- Implement curriculum aligned with school standards and Catholic educational values.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction, to support diverse learners.
- Integrate technology to enhance instruction, student engagement, and assessment.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth.
- Assessment & Progress Monitoring
- Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and skill development.
- Analyze student data to inform instruction and provide targeted support.
- Communicate academic progress to students, parents, and administrators.
- Classroom Environment
- Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom culture.
- Manage classroom routines and behavior through respectful, consistent expectations.
- Foster a love for reading, writing, and lifelong learning.
- Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
- Participate in professional learning communities, faculty meetings, and school initiatives.
- Collaborate with support staff to meet the needs of all learners.
- Catholic Identity & School Culture
- Model and uphold the values and mission of St. John Baptist Catholic Church.
- Participate in school liturgies, prayer, service projects, and community events.
- Support the spiritual development of students through example and classroom practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Language Arts, or a related field.
- Teaching certification or willingness to obtain appropriate certification.
- Experience working with middle school–aged students in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of reading, writing, grammar, and literature instruction.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons and differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
- Effective classroom-management and communication skills.
- Commitment to collaborating with colleagues, parents, and school leadership.
- Willingness to support and uphold the Catholic mission and values of the school.
