Middle School Teacher - Communications (LTS)

About the role

Teach the curriculum of Independent School District 196. Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract and the principal. Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.

District 196 is a Minnesota public school district serving more than 29,000 students and 160,000 residents in Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan, Burnsville, Coates, Empire, Inver Grove Heights, Lakeville, and Vermillion Township. The district operates 20 elementary schools, six middle schools, four high schools, an optional School of Environmental Studies, an Area Learning Center, a K-12 special education school, and programs for young adults ages 18-22. It also provides early childhood and Adult Basic Education services, along with extensive community education programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach middle school English curriculum.
• Fulfill duties as outlined in the master contract.
• Follow directives and expectations set by the building principal.
• Maintain positive communication and cooperation with staff and parents.

Requirements

• Licensed by the state of Minnesota to teach middle school English.
• Strong general academic background.
• Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and the community.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
