Responsibilities
- Teach students with special needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and school counselors to develop and implement effective educational strategies
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed to meet individual student needs
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
- Work collaboratively with families to provide support and resources for students' academic and social-emotional growth
Requirements
- BA/BS from an accredited college or university
- Valid Colorado teaching license endorsed in area of assignment: Special Education Generalist
- Completion of the Colorado READ Act training requirements
Qualifications
- Experience teaching students with special needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and families
- Knowledge of current special education practices and trends

- Excellent classroom management skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning
- Strong organizational and time management skills

Pay
- Minimum starting pay is $50,500/year
- Maximum salary is $101,999/year
- Initial pay placement is dependent on level of formal education and years of relevant experience

- 182 contracted work days
