About the role

As a Middle School Special Education Teacher at Capital Preparatory Schools, you will be responsible for fostering a safe and engaging learning environment for students in grades 6th and 7th. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students in grades 6th and 7th.
  • Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and school administrators to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Participate in data-driven decision-making processes to improve instructional strategies and school climate.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to foster a supportive home-school partnership.

Requirements

  • Three years of teaching experience in special education, preferred.
  • Experience in analyzing data to drive instruction.
  • A Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a Master’s degree and NYS certification.
  • A commitment to achieving certification if not already obtained.

Pay

First-year Illuminators (teachers) receive salaries ranging from $62,784 for non-certified bachelor's degree holders to $79,200 for those with a master's degree and certification. Salary is commensurate with years of lead teaching experience, education level, and certification status.

Schedule

This is a full-time, full-year position.
