Middle School Social Studies Teacher (2026-2027)

Job Summary

Discovery Fusion is seeking a Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position provides a student-centered, hybrid virtual learning experience that promotes academic achievement through an innovative and flexible learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Create engaging, asynchronous lessons aligned to the curriculum and Louisiana Student Standards
• Design and implement a positive and inclusive virtual hybrid learning environment
• Provide daily asynchronous Social Studies instruction and differentiated synchronous learning experiences to promote student mastery
• Audit and provide consistent individualized feedback to students/learning coaches/parents/guardians
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment for students
• Utilize technology and other resources to enhance student engagement through mastery of content
• Record, analyze, and evaluate student data frequently
• Consult with students/learning coaches/parents/guardians to provide targeted guidance and support toward individual student goals
• Serve as a homeroom mentor to build student relationships and school culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Valid teaching certification/license (certifications in Special Education, Gifted Instruction, ESL, and/or Reading Specialist are desired)
• Experience working with middle school students in a classroom setting (2+ years preferred)
• Knowledge of LEAP 2025 assessments and Louisiana Student Standards
